Readying and Reviewing Plans
Readying Plans
All users who own tasks inside the project's lookahead period can Make Ready their plan once they've finished building and updating their work.
Marking a plan as Ready indicates to the rest of the team that an Owner's work is ready for the next Published Version (or review).
There are two types of Readied Plans:
Type | Description |
---|---|
Ready with Issues | An owner has Readied their plan with missing data and/or unresolved clashes and/or overdue Blockers inside the lookahead period |
Readied | An owner has Readied their plan with all required information complete, and no clashes to resolve inside the lookahead period |
Unreadied Plans
An owner's plan will only stay Ready until the next Publication is created or their plan is significantly changed in the meantime.
If any of the following occur to a Readied plan, the owner's plan will be unreadied and returned back to the Not Ready state:
The owner creates a new task inside the lookahead period (before the next Published Version is created)
The owner edits the start or end date of an existing task inside the lookahead period (before the next Published Version is created)
The next Published Version is created
Reviewing Plans
Optionally, teams can implement a two-step Review process. One user will be responsible for Reviewing and Approving another user's plan before the next Published Version is created.
A Reviewer can approve plans that are Ready, Ready with Issues or Not Ready. Once a plan has been Reviewed, it will stay approved until the next Published Version is created.
