Package Properties


Packages are groups of work that represent something that is being delivered on site. They are intentionally open and flexible to allow teams to create plans that work for them. Packages can be used to represent things like “Bridge 1” or “Level 2 Fitout” but can equally be more generic, such as “Design” and “Subcontracted Works”.

Package Roles

Package Roles are unique to Packages on a Project and control a User's permissions to edit the Package, and all work within the Package. There are three Package Roles that enable different members of the team to interact with the Package and all work within the Package to varying degrees.

Package Owner

Package Owners are Users who are accountable for building and readying work in the plan.

This is typically the Engineer on the project who is responsible for this section of work in the plan.

Assigned To

Packages can be Assigned To Users who are responsible for delivering and updating work in the Package. This is typically

Assigning users to a Package will automatically Assign the user to all current tasks within the Package as well as any future task created in that Package.

Package Permissions

A user's ability to edit a Package are impacted by their Package Roles and its Permission setting.

Locked Packages

Packages are locked by default, allowing the Owner to control the information that is communicated within it.

Package Properties

Package Properties are the information assigned to Packages in the plan. Some Properties, such as the Package's Start Date and End Date, will be determined by the Tasks assigned to it, whereas other Package Properties are editable and will be determined by the User that creates the Package (e.g. Name and Owner).

Name

The descriptive name give to the Package

Start

The start date of the first Task within the Package

End

The finish date of the last Task within the Package

Owner

The User that created the Package

Locked

Only the Owner can use the Package

Public

All users can use the Package

Assigned to

The User(s) that have been assigned Package permissions, these vary based on their Project Role

Task

The name of the Tasks assigned to the Package, with their End date and

Notes

Additional Notes that can be attached the Package

Comments

A thread of communications on the Package

Documents

Documents that have been uploaded and attached to the Package
